China Construction Bank is interested in tapping the Taiwan market, through either acquisitions or the establishment of its own branches, its chairman Guo Shuqing said, disclosing no specific plans.
He added that he wanted to know more details about the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed Monday between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan before a decision is made.
The MOU is expected to pave the way for banks on both sides to invest in each other.
